Because it flares out at the bottom and the general shape, at a 106cm bust / 88cm waist, this fits and buttons without strain on the buttons or seams, however the pintucks don't lay flat. There doesn't seem to be any strain on them, they just stand up because of the angle. To get them to lay flat, it would need to be oversized in fit. When layering they lay flat, it's more of the fabric forming to the curve of the bust that is making them not lay flat.
