This project came to life from a simple chat between friends. I told Nunu about one of the things on my bucket list: making a coffin bag. My teenage years were spent as an emo kid, and I had always wanted a coffin bag growing up but could never afford one. The thought of making a coffin bag was always in the corners of my mind. What better time to fulfill my teenage dreams than as an adult? I don’t have to worry about affording one when I can make my own!

The first time I saw Nunu’s Winnie the Pooh bags, I was inspired. What if, instead of opening a book’s cover, you were opening a coffin’s lid? Nunu also thought it’d be a fun idea, even adding that she could draw the Girl and the Skeleton as part of the design–a collaboration! As a longtime fan of her art, I was honored by the opportunity.

Once I saw what she had created for the bag, I was once again inspired. Her art transcended its purpose, and was screaming to be used in more places! That’s how our collaboration on the dresses began.

This is a collaboration between Haenuli and Iris Garden. The artwork for the print is based off of two characters that are featured prominently in Haenuli's artwork: the Girl and the Skeleton.

Kickstarter funding period is February 9 - March 11, 2023, with order forms sent to backers March 15, 2023. Items were sent out in mid-September 2023.

The early bird pricing was $135, with the Kickstarter price going up to $145. The price recorded refers to overstock once the campaign ends.
