[Brand comment] She walked between the rows of tombstones, bare feet falling silently on the grass. Her hair smelled of lilies and decay, pungent earth still clung to her fingernails…Our “Tombstone” sleeveless dress (or jumperskirt) is inspired by Victorian cemetery symbols and mourning culture. Laurel or flower wreaths symbolized victory in death, freedom from life’s toils. Skulls reminded onlookers that they too would die, “memento mori”, and to embrace their lives. Birds symbolized the soul departing to heaven. The print on this dress features several of these symbols and is exclusive to Gloomth!
[Design notes]- The final product for sale is longer than the modeled sample photos show. 
- Stretch cotton poplin. Concealed back zipper closure.- Features an illustration digitally printed on the front. The artwork is comprised of Victorian tombstone imagery, a skull, flowers, birds, and Gloomth & the Cult of Melancholy on a ribbon banner. The print is crisp and full of detail, and won’t wash out!- Black velvet ribbon large waist ties, attached at side seams.- The skirt is not lined (won’t crush your light summer petticoat). The skirt is shown on the mannequin worn over a very small cupcake shaped petticoat, it will fit an a-line style nicely as well (not included).- Short babydoll bodice with ruffle framed straps. The perfect shape for layering over your favorite collared blouse (not included).- Black velvet cross detail at the yoke framed in ruffles and pleating. Black velvet bow detail.- Full fluffy skirt will fit your largest petticoat (not included). Trimmed in rows of ruffles with two black velvet ribbon bows. The skirt is longer than the current modeled photos, we will be updating these asap but please check the measurements below.- We recommend dry cleaning for this dress but it can be washed inside out in cold water on a delicate cycle setting and hung to dry. Iron on low when needed (avoiding the print and the velvet accents).- Sizing for this dress is slightly smaller than some of our other designs; please check the measurements closely.
